The 2006 Scrap Heap Fantasy Sports Championship combines the 20 individual leagues that make up the Scrap Heap to find a single fantasy sports champion for the year.
The Championship includes all leagues that finish in 2006 (some counting leagues actually start in 2005). Each league is assigned a points scale, and points are awarded to managers based on their final positions in each league.
The 2006 Championship standings will be decided by the total points scored by each manager in all leagues that they enter.
Pre-Registration will open for all leagues at least 4 weeks before the start of the league. The deadline will vary from sport to sport. For leagues with a live draft, the deadline for registration will be approximately 1 month before the season starts to enable the live drafts to take place before the first day of the season. Pick 'em leagues such as golf and soccer will have a deadline of around 2 weeks before the start of the season, whilst non-Yahoo leagues such as Tennis and Tour de France will have a deadline in the week before the league commences. This process will be used for players to sign up to receive invites to the Yahoo leagues once they open, or to process roster submissions, as well as allowing the commissioner to group teams with similar draft preferences where applicable. Correct email addresses must be supplied during pre-registration as this is where the invites will be sent to. Pre-Registration for each league will be announced by email in the Scrap Heap Newsletter at the beginning of each month (also published on the Scrap Heap homepage).
Managers can still enter individual leagues even if they do not intend to participate in the Scrap Heap Fantasy Sports Championship. Points will be awarded to all managers participating in all leagues and the commissioner will not object to anyone wishing to enter just one or two leagues each year.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in the championship standings at the end of each calendar year.
